| Accompanied by the development of higher educational internalization, the higher education among countries and regions becomes closer, and the cross-culture phenomenon of South Korean students in China is attracting more and more attention and research.This article will focus on South Korean students’ acculturation situation in Guangzhou, dividing into five session including mental adaption, learning goal, life adaptation, social support and academic adaption. In this study, collected South Korean students from four colleges in Guangzhou, and questionnaires were to examine the acculturation situation. This article will also conducted in-depth interviews with some of the students and analyze and result with SPSS19.0 and Excel.The study found that most of the South Korean students have problem with mild depression, and feel hard with social adaption and the most serious problem is academic adaption, which study capital and duration of the study in Guangzhou have a significant on them. In all the study goals, cultural attraction and language ability promotion are the most important reasons. Besides, tourism attraction and academic exchanges also play an important role in it. In social support, most of the supports are from their country and family rather than counter of destination.This article will put forward the following proposal based on the research. Firstly, for the colleges, they should develop diversified student associations and entrance education to prevent students’ psychological problem, as well as develop the Buddy Activity.Secondly, for the students, they should make good preparation to study abroad before they come to China and improve their Chinese so that they can participate well in the life in Guangzhou. Finally, we should strengthen intercultural communication teaching and consummate the curriculum. |
