On The Detail Processing Of Satoshi Kon Animation

Satoshi Kon,as an outstanding representative of Japanese animation directors,has taken Japan and even the world's animation to a higher level.The perfection of his animation works comes from his perfect control of details in creation process.The details make his animated works thought-provoking.Although they don't seem to have much profound meanings at the first sight,there are great artistic conceptions hidden behind those details.This study mainly studies the details of Satoshi Kon's works.Firstly,I theoretically discuss them from two aspects: “detail is the key to animation” and “the details come from daily life”;Secondly,I researched on the detail processing skill of Satoshi Kon from five aspects: plot,storyboard,characters,scene and voice.At meantime,I review and summarize the creation process of my graduation animation work Swim,and illustrate what I have learned from Satoshi Kon's works;Lastly,I conclude about Satoshi Kon's detail processing that he insists on details,and break through himself,two points which should be adhered to when creating great animation works.
