In English teaching,writing has been highly concerned as a core proficiency of listening,speaking,reading,writing and translation.Many researchers have conducted extensive studies on improving students' English writing proficiency;nevertheless,the result is not so optimistic.Through the comb and analysis of previous studies,the studies are limited to lexicon,grammar and coherence,while the researches of language logic errors are less.In fact,language and logic have close relationship,especially for English which is constructed on logic.The writings which lack logic are not rigorous in content and not convincing;they are loose in structure and incoherent in discourse.Language logic has an effect on the content,structure and coherence of students' writings,and the study of logic can improve the English writing proficiency of students.In the paper,students' writings are collected from Pigai network,and logic errors are analyzed from the perspectives of logical conjunctions and fallacies under the guidance of error analysis theory and pragma-dialectical theory.The logical conjunctions are the major way to show the logical relationship at sentence level.Through the study of the usage of logical conjunctions,the features of logic errors in students' writings can be found from the micro aspect.The analysis of fallacies contributes to grasping the errors in reasoning and acquiring the features of logic errors from the macro aspect.The conclusions of the paper are as follows: 1)Logic errors exist in additive relation,adversative relation,causal relation and temporal relation all.The logic errors are most in additive relation and least in temporal relation.In the additive relation,the logic errors are improper parallel,Chinese logic,wrong focus,misuse of additive relationships into conditional relationships,and misuse of addictive relations to represent the adversative relation.In the adversative relation,the logic errors are mixing syntactic structure,mixing the semantic relationship of adversative relation and additive relation,misuse of adversative relation into additive relation and irrelevant semantic meanings.In causal relations,the logic error focuses on irrelevant semantic meaning which represents causation errors.As for temporal relation,the logic error focuses on time disorder and irrelevant semantic meanings.2)The typical logical fallacies in students' writings are the straw man fallacy,the abusing authority fallacy,pathetic fallacy,the irrelevant argumentation fallacy,circular reasoning fallacy,the false analogy fallacy,hasty generation fallacy,slippery fallacy and the composition fallacy.3)The deep reasons of causing students' logic errors are students' limited contact with conjunctions and argumentations;mother tongue transfer;the Chinese thinking mode and lack of reasoning ability.The present study is intended to explore the features of college students' logic errors and the cause of logic errors,which may enhance the study of language logic errors.At the same time,it provides the references to English writing teaching and further study of language logic errors.
