Research On The Application Of Yi Traditional Decorative Patterns In Modern Design

looPatterns,as a part of the national culture,usually with a lot of cultural information,are used to record myth and history.The cultural connotation of the Yi traditional pattern is extremely rich.Different contents,color and shape of the patterns express the aesthetic taste and psychological activity of the nation.Therefore,the ideas and course of national development can be reflected from the pattern.This paper focuses on summarizing the following aspects:tiger,gourd,delavay rhodode ndron flower,sun and fire,the five elements which are most frequently used in the Yi pattern,and explores their origins and forms.From the aspects of pattern content,shape and color,this paper discusses the common features of the Yi pattern in different carriers,a nd the profound history and culture of Yi people behind it.Furthermore,the aesthetic form of Yi traditional patterns can be refined.At the same time,in this paper,the author attempts to recreate the Yi pattern,and points out that the application of traditional pattern in modern design should follow three points:(1)in terms of content,pay attention to the expression of " meaning";(2)in terms of shape," mix" various forms in a proper way;(3)in the application of color,only " take" certain traditional colors.At the same time,the author has her own understanding of the modern design of Yi pattern and summarizes the characteristics of the aesthetic rules,which offer the reference to future research and design.At the end of the paper,the author introduces the application of the elements of Yi traditional pattern to modern design.The decorative painting which is made by the author with her major further shows that the combination of traditional patterns and modern design is feasible,and it provides an important way for the spread and development of national culture.
