The progress of modern science and technology and the coming of network information age stimulate the development of micro culture such as micro fiction,micro-blog,micro video and so on.They spread quickly through various media like network,occupy people`s spare time and bring entertainment and aesthetic experience to their fast-paced lifes.Micro film as a representative of the network video,from the creation to the acceptance,the " micro " attribute continue to extend on the Internet,occupying the major communication platform.Since 2010,mico film in China has thrived.As the number of micro film vastly grows,it has been questioned for its uneven quality and over-commercialization.So it is necessary to thoroughly study the aesthetic significance and communication meaning of it.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter defines micro film and reviews its origin.The second chapter analyses the unique aesthetic characteristics and artistic value of micro film.And this chapter focuses on "micro",the attribute of micro film,by comparing famous micro film of China and abroad to study its aesthetic significance.The third chapter analyses micro film by 5W communication mode which are producers,contents,channels,audiences and effects of communication.And then discusses innovation of mico film in the new media era.Finally this paper explores how to develop micro fil in the new media era by unifying thought and art in micro film,mixing art and commerce in it and sticking the bottom line of communication that focuses on contents and art of it.
