A Practice Report On The Chinese Translation Of “Machine Tools For Large Parts”

With the continuous development of modern manufacturing,peoples' requirements for the accuracy of the machine tool have been increasing.The development of heavy-duty machine tools,especially the machine tools for the large parts,is a very noteworthy problem in machine tools industry.The current domestic research in this area is not very deeply,the main confinement is the lack of cooperation with some foreign related experts.The source text "Machine Tools for Large Parts" analyzes the present research situation in this field from multiple perspectives.Therefore,the translation of this text has remarkable reference value for our domestic research and development in this field.In this paper,Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory is used as a theoretical guide,and the source language is analyzed in depth based on the translation-oriented analysis model in order to find the appropriate translation strategy.After the translation and proofreading of the source language,the author summarizes the characteristics of the source language and summarizes the six translations from the vocabulary,the sentence and the chapter according to the common problems encountered in the translation method.Through the case analysis of the source text,the author summarizes some experiences and comments in the process of translation,hoping that this report can provide constructive reference for the future translation of mechanical engineering.
