According to the Interpretive Theory, interpreting is a dynamic process that contains three stages: comprehension,de-verbalization and re-expression.The usage of anticipation in interpretation may aid interpreters in comprehending and memorizing the original texts, and it is extremely beneficial to the “de-verbalization” in interpreting.Helpful as anticipation is,it should be applied reasonably and appropriately, otherwise it would do harm to the process and be risky in interpreting, and hence studying anticipation in interpreting would be conducive to the improvement of interpreting capabilities. This report, based on the author's simulative interpreting of two interviews related to environmental protection from the program--China Talk, studies anticipation in interpreting process from the perspective of Interpretive Theory in order to guide future practices. The report is divided into five parts, including task description, process description, case analysis, reflections and conclusion.Part one is a brief introduction of topic sources, significance and rationale of the task;In part two,the author describes the preparations before interpretation, such as theoretical framework, background knowledge, theme knowledge, and information about the participants, and in this part the author also describes the interpreting process and the organization of material; In part three, from the perspective of the Interpretive Theory, the author analyzes the rationality, sources, classifications and functions of anticipation at different levels and stages in interpreting; In part four, the author evaluates the performance of the author in the whole task and makes further discussion, trying to put forward approaches to improve the efficiency of anticipation;Part five is the conclusion of the author made through practice and research.
