A Study Of Word Interpreting From The Perspective Of Interpretative Theory

As a form of interpreting,consecutive interpreting plays an important role in various conferences both at home and abroad.Therefore,most conferences have been interpreted in this way.Interpretative theory,as a theory which has been universally accepted by interpreting industry,exists in all kinds of interpreting practices.In this interpreting practice,the interpreter has a consecutive interpreting by using the interpreting material called Independent Innovation Summit of Chinese Television Program.It was co-hosted by State Administration of Press,Publication,Radio,Film and Television and Shanghai government.The interpreter explores the specific usage of interpretative theory in word interpreting,and discusses useful ways which can improve interpreting efficiency on the basis of meaning equivalence between source language and target language.The purposes are spreading production ideas of Chinese television program and outputting excellent models of Chinese television program to the outside world.According to the features of this interpreting material,this interpreting practice chooses the form of consecutive interpreting and mainly explores interpreting skills of Chinese-to-English words interpreting.This interpreting practice report is based on interpretative theory,follows the principle of meaning equivalence,and adopts literal interpreting,free interpreting,vague interpreting and precise interpreting.It finds that in the process of consecutive interpreting the appropriate usage of interpretative theory can ensure the audience of target language get a more complete and accurate meaning of source language.In the application of this theory,the major point is that a word needs to be interpreted on the basis of discourse.Through this interpreting practice,the interpreter fully realizes that interpreters can adopt flexible interpreting strategies and methods to solve the difficulties in interpreting process,but the prerequisite is keeping the meaning equivalence between languages.At the same time,the suitable and flexible interpreting skills have a higher requirement for interpreters� knowledge in cultural,theoretical,linguistic and social aspects.An interpreting practice with high quality and standard requires interpreters to be both an expert and an all-round person.
