With China's economy booming, there is no denying the fact that interpreting plays a vital role in facilitating the growing communications with countries in the international arena. In this paper, the author intends to focus on English-Chinese consecutive interpreting. For interpreters,to accurately translate source language into target language makes a hard issue, especially when source language contains long sentences. That is because long sentences often involve many parts, namely clauses,non-finite verbs, and some are in passive voice, etc.Basically, these kinds of long sentences are what the author deals with in this paper. This paper is intended to discuss the author's interpreting practice in 2016 Beijing International Auto Show.Techniques the author describes are what she has acquired from the class, training and practices.Based on the case analyses, the author demonstrates that these techniques can make interpreting go smoothly and become more accurate.Yet,practice makes perfect.Only by adequate training can the interpreters become proficient in these techniques.
