The source text is the fifth chapter of Confucius and Crisis in American Universities: Culture,Capital,and Diplomacy in US.Public Higher Education by Amy Stambach,which was published by Routledge in May 2014.In this chapter,Stambach studies the courses and students of three Confucius Institutes in the United States with an ethnographic way,and proposes some suggestions on the development of Confucius Institutes.This is of great significance to the admission,publicity and domestic study of U.S.Confucius Institutes in the future.The thesis mainly consists of three parts: the source text,the translation and the translation report based on it.In the translation practice,the author categorizes the source text according to Newmark's Functions of Language,and translates the text under the guidance of Communicative Translation.Then,the author sums up the difficulties from the word and sentence levels and offers some solutions.Finally,the author summarizes the experience of the translation practice.
