As a report on English and Chinese consecutive interpreting,this report describes one interpreting task which the author attended in the end June,2016,for a culture exchange program called Xinjiang Ethnic Minority Group Culture Experience Trip.Trying to promote the understanding of the two different areas(Xingjiang and Macau),Xinjiang Normal University and Institutions for Tourism Studies IFT Macau both together hold this program.This report is to analyze the content under the guidance of Interpretive Theory.The author introduces Interpretive Theory and translation content of this program in the report and use the theory to analyze representative cases.The changes of occasions diversified the contents for translating also thus large vocabulary was needed and also the accuracy of translation in this task.In practice,the author finds that there is a non-identity between the source language and the target language.Through classifying,the author studies cases respectively in three aspects: epexegesis,omissions and adaptation.Through analysis,the author reached three conclusions as follow: 1,Interpreter must be well-prepared especially for the terminology the speaker would mention.2,The interpreter should communicate with the speaker timely and interpret after completely understanding.3,Interpretive Theory plays an important role in this report but we should pay attention to its application,which is to interpret on the basis of source language when literal interpret cannot meet its purpose.The author combines Interpretive Theory with the task in order to explain and solve the problems in the task.The author wish that this report may provide a reference for subsequent interpretation learners.
