Teaching Status And Construction Characteristics Of Xavier University Confucius Institute

The Xavier university Confucius Institute is the first Confucius Institute at the African-American University of African universities,co-organized by the University of Hebei and Xavier University,as an overseas institution to promote Chinese and disseminate Chinese traditional culture and learn Chinese for the local population and understand the Chinese culture provides a good platform.To become a link between Xavier University and Hebei University of the link and the bridge,by the two teachers and students of great importance.This paper takes the Xavier university Confucius institute as the research object,It analyzes the current situation of Chinese teaching by means of literature research,case study,interview and questionnaires.In these ways to know the current situation of teaching staff,and the current situation of Chinese language proficiency.The survey shows that Xavier university Confucius institute has some shortcomings in the use of teaching materials,teachers' training and cooperation between the two schools.Combined with the traditional cultural activities of the Confucius Institute,We find out that the Xavier university Confucius institute has four characteristics in Chinese teaching.Firstly,let the students go into and serve the community,secondly,it should carry out Chinese teaching with the help of the Xavier University,thirdly,it can apply the teaching method which is the lessons of learning Chinese is the main course,and the cultural experience is supplemental.Fourthly,combine the online and offline together to learn Chinese.This paper puts forward the following suggestions: strengthening the teaching characteristics and enriching the local cultural ecology;strengthening the academic standard of knowledge based on the folk culture;establishing the standard system and promoting the standardization development of Chinese.strengthening the training of local teachers,establishing a comprehensive system of training mechanisms;enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the field of teaching interaction.In these ways,to promote the international development of Xavier university Confucius institute.
