On The Translation Of English Biography From The Perspective Of Functional Equivalence Theory

This is a project report of which the source text is excerpted from Elon Musk.Under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory proposed by American linguist and translator Eugene Nida,the author aims to make the translated text and the original text equivalent in semantic and stylistic aspects,and is also aimed at making the reaction of the target text readers be equivalent to that of the source text readers.With a view of differences between Chinese and English thinking patterns,proper translation methods and strategies are chosen as follows: literal translation,free translation,splitting and the like.The author hopes the translation acquaints more readers with the real life Iron Man,provides valuable references for the entrepreneurs,as well as brings some inspiration to the translators of similar biography translation.
