| Nowadays,the Internet has been an effective platform for people to communicate and get the latest information,so there appear a bunch of news websites especially concerning tech news.Mtrend.cn is such a news website which particularly strives to track the latest development in Internet industry and collect the information of new technologies as well as their newest applications.The tech news we discussed in the paper refers to any news relevant to the Internet industry,including new technologies,new applications,marketing via the Internet and business strategies or information about Internet corporate.The writer had been a translator as well as editor for Mtrend.cn from October in 2015 to April in 2016,during which the writer was required to select the latest tech news concerning popular topics on major foreign Tech websites and to translate it into Chinese.Therefore,his practice report is written on the basis of the translation practice which amounts to nearly20,000 words,so as to offer some suggestions on the tech news translation.The paper consists of four chapters: firstly,the introduction to the translation task and requirements of the task;secondly,the theoretical statement and the description of the translation process;thirdly,case analysis of translation examples with the three rules of Skopos Theory and the applied translation strategies faced with different situations;fourthly,the summary of the translation practice,including the lessons the writer have learned and problems the writer still have faced.During the translation process,the writer did research by reading and referring to relevant documents about tech news E-C translation,illustrated certain translation cases and summarized practices in the translation process.Based on Rules of Skopos Theory,this paper has mainly discussed how three rules were applied in tech news translation practice,summarized features and purposes,listed the difficult translation points caused by significant elements and even summarized the specific strategies as well as methods applied in the translation process by means of case study.Furthermore,the translator put a summary of translation errors as well as the experiencesgained from the process into the report.In this project,the translator had grasped a deeper understanding of Rules of Skopos Theory and dramatically improved the translation level. |
