| This is a translation report on English news of Shaanxi Normal University. Analysis and summary about the process of C-E translation and editing is detailed under the guidance of Skopos Theory in this report.Four parts are included:task description, translation theory, case study and summary. The first part mainly deals with the characteristics of English news; the second part is a brief introduction of Skopos Theory, guided by which the translation is done; the third part is about detailed case analysis, the core of the report. In this part the author elaborates on the process of editing and translating Chinese news into English news, including how to edit and translate the title, the lead, and the body; the fourth part is a summary of the translation process in which the author offers some tips that may help those who will do the same job.To help beginners deal with news C-E translation, this report originally proposes a process of news tansediting, including:summarizing information, omitting information, adding information and sorting information.The author summarizes her experience in the hopes to help those who want to gain the basic skills of news editing and translating in a short time and those who desire to push forward the English website of Shaanxi Normal University. |
