This report is based on the C-E translation of a ten-thousand-word excerpt from three exhibition brochures commissioned by Iran Nano China Center,which are Innovation Center for 3D Printing Technology brochure of Shanghai Industrial Technology Institute,the 2nd Sino-Iran Nanotech Business Matchmaking Event brochure and Iranian nanotechnology product brochure.The report aims to analyze the problems encountered and the solutions adopted by the author in the course of translation practice so as to provide a reference for future translation of similar text type.The report is divided into five parts.The first part is a brief description of this translation practice.The second part comes to the analysis of previous studies on Newmark's text typology and domestic studies on C-E translation of exhibition brochures.Then,in the third part,the overall process of the translation practice is discussed,including pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation revision.The fourth part probes into the translation problems encountered by the author,and explores appropriate strategies and principles from the perspective of Newmark's text typology for C-E translation of exhibition brochures based on specific translation examples and related translation choices.Finally,a conclusion will be drawn to review the complete translation practice. |
