A Study On The Translation Strategies Of Japanese Ellipsis

Ellipsis expression is the unique feature of Japanese expression,It is often to see this expression when we learned Japanese,which also reflects the unique culture that expresses ambiguity and euphemism.This kind of expression is much different from Chinese.If we do not understand the ellipsis expression,there will be some ambiguities in translation.Therefore,it is very necessary and meaningful for us to understand the expressions of Japanese sentences,ellipsis,and thpir corresponding translation methods and strategies from the perspective of Chinese learners of japanese.By reading the previous literature,I find that there are a lot of studies on Japanese ellipsis expression researches especially the study of thsubject ellipsis.However,there are a few studies on the expression of sentence-final ellipsis and much fewer translation researches of the sentence-final ellipsis.Therefore,based on the previous researches,the sentence-final ellipsis expression will be classified several types in this thesis,which includes the ending of noun,verb,adverb,accessory word and auxiliary word.This thesis will take Dazai Osamu's two novel The Setting Sun and No Longer Human as center,Using literature researchmethod,comparative research method and example study method,with a comparative analysis of Chinese version.The results of this study are:We use literal translation method when the sentence-final ellipsis expression has the ending of verb,adverb,accessory word and prompting auxiliary toritate-particle,on the contrary,we use addition generally dealing with the ending of case-auxiliary word and auxiliary verb sentence.On the basis of different situations,different translation methods should be adopted in the translation of the ending of noun sentence.The information that is known to both the speaker and the listener is often omitted when it appears again in a dialogue,in addition,we will use addition.
