The original material of the translation project is Blue Book of Language Service for Chinese Enterprise Globalization(2016),published on April 23,2016.A comprehensive analysis of the source text indicates that the Chinese run-on sentences with its own characteristics which vary a great deal from English on form expression are frequently used.Accordingly,it is found that there are two major difficulties of the Chinese run-on sentence translation:(1)Difficulty in translating the logical structure of Chinese run-on sentences;(2)Difficulty in translating Chinese run-on sentences with omitted or repeated information. From the perspective of synthesis theory, the translation process, mainly covering analysis and synthesis,is the transformation from source language to target language.Synthesis is divided into semantic synthesis and pragmatic synthesis, which play a joint role in translators' better information transfer for the sake of equivalent communicative value.Concrete strategies are proposed as follows:(1)Cohesive markers amplification for making implicit logical structure clear;(2)Omitted information amplification for avoiding misunderstanding of meanings;(3)Repeated information simplification for conciseness;(4)Information restructuring for dealing with loose logic and unclear primary and secondary structure. It is suggested that the synthesis theory and its translation process model are of high practicality in translation of blue book and helpful in effective transfer of source language information.Meanwhile, the author thinks that analysis and explicitation of the implicit logical relations or semantic information are necessary for better transfer of source information.
