Machine translation(MT)has witnessed great growth since 1930s when the term "translating machine" was first introduced. As trade and information exchanges become more frequent around the world, the demand for translation explodes. Therefore, the "Machine translation(MT)+ Post-editing(PE)" approach comes into being and turns out to be adopted in more and more translation and localization projects.By comparing MT output and post-edited translation, this report classifies machine translation errors and discusses corresponding strategies of post-editing(PE)for the sake of enhancing the quality and efficiency of employing "MT+PE" approach to translate bidding contracts. This report is divided into four sections. The first section is about the translation of the bidding contract. In section two,it introduces the translation machine employed in the"MT+PE" approach and the advantages of this approach for translating the bidding contract. The third section compares MT output with post-edited translation from three aspects:terms translation, translation of vocabulary and phrases, and sentence translation.By finding common MT translation errors, this section further suggests corresponding strategies for post-editing.Finally,the fourth section concludes with a brief summary of the report and its limitations;further, the author looks forward to future researches in related fields.
