A Practice Report On Translation Of Statistical Communique Of National Economic And Social Development Of Harbin In 2015

The Statistical Communique of the National Economic and Social Development aims to show the social economy and industrial development of a region through an objective and impartial statement of data and facts.It bases on the local national and economic development situation provided by the statistical bureaus at all levels,and shows a clear social development situation by collecting the important economic indicators of different sectors and the diachronic comparison of the data.In the era of the accelerating development of globalization,the accurate translation of the national economic communique can play an important role in promoting foreign trade and economic exchanges and attracting foreign investment.Therefore,it is of great significance to the translation of it.This statistical communique aims to introduce the concrete achievements of Harbin in the fields of agriculture,industry,construction,asset investment,domestic trade,foreign trade,transportation tourism,social security and safe production in 2015.It is of great significance for foreigners' comprehensive understanding of Harbin.The author did not find other translations for it through the network,so the English translation is necessary.In addition,it has a strong practical significance,for it can make more relevant foreigners effectively and comprehensively understand the current situation of Harbin.The paper is composed of four parts.Part One is the introduction of the translation task delegate,the task background,content and significance.Part Two describes the translation process,including professional terminology preparation,parallel text reference,theoretical knowledge selection and text feature analysis.Part Three is the focus of this report,and is the combination of theory and practice.It lists the difficulties from the lexical level,syntactic level and textual level in the translation process and gives explanations respectively under the guidance of Skopos Theory and Textual Function Theory.The author also uses some translation techniques such as literal translation,free translation,amplification and omission in translation to analyze some cases in the translation process.In the last part,the author reflects on the wholetranslation process and summarizes what the author has learned from the practice,so as to provide some ideas for the future translation work.
