The translation practice report is based on the book Money and Monetary Policy in an Open Economy and it is a reflection and summary of the translation practice. The translation is about 10,000 words. The author has completed this translation practice report based on his own practice, and has reflected on and summarized this translation practice.Hans Vermeer,a representative of the German functionalist school, freed translation from the shackles of the original text theory, and proposed Skopos theory.Under the guidance of Skopos theory, the vocabulary and sentence have been analyzed by the author and three important issues in the translation practice report have been raised.First, preparations should be made before translation-preparing materials and choosing appropriate translation theories to improve the speed and quality of translation.Second,to avoid the misunderstandings, the translation of terminology and other involved description should be focused on and the precision of the translation in the face of highly professional texts should be improved during translation. Finally, the original text should be translated under the guidance of Skopos theory to avoid the author's subjective judgments and make the target language reader get the same reading experience as the original reader. This report studies the original text from two aspects: lexical level and syntactic level. At the lexical level, the vocabulary in trade and economic text is formal, accurate, and rigorous. Therefore this report analyzes the words from professional nouns, words selection, and part-of-speech conversion to summarize the translation process. At the syntactic level, there are lots of substantive sentences and the passive sentences in the original text. This report aims to translate nominal clauses, attributive clauses and passive sentences with the help of certain translation strategies, and find new problems and the solutions in the translation process. Finally, some problems encountered in the translation process and the methods to solve such problems could be found.
