E-C Consecutive Interpreting From The Perspective Of Gile's Effort Model

China has now become the world's second largest economy.In today's China,with the deepening of reform,economic reform is steadily advancing.State-owned enterprise(SOE)reform,as the key area of economic reform,has attracted worldwide attention.The Dialogue of the CCTV-News has become a window for introducing China's views and spreading China's voice due to the instantaneity of the issues it discussed,the authority of its guests and its wide audience.Interpreting is a bridge between different languages and it makes great contribution to the international communication.As an important form of interpretation,consecutive interpretation plays an important role.Gile proposed the Effort Model according to the different characteristics and cognitive modes of simultaneous interpretation and consecutive interpretation,and put forward the related formulas.Based on the case study of SOE reform editions of Dialogue,the author,under the guidance of Gile's Effort Model,tries to seek possible solutions to problems in two aspects.One is the problems generated by the video itself,such as the complication of the terminology and background knowledge,the interpretation of loose structures and repetitive information,speakers' fast turn-taking,etc.The other is the quick understanding of unfamiliar message and effective expression.It is expected that those interpreting strategies can shed new lights and be helpful in dealing with difficulties in economic topic interpreting practice in similar situations.
