Study Of Pan Yuliang’s Oil Panting

Pan yuliang,born in 1895 in Yangzhou,is one of the most influential female painters in the twentieth century.She is also the pioneer and founder of the Chinese female art.Pan created a new world for Chinese female arts.She got rid of the feudal ethics and became the first group of female students of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts.Then,she joined the first group of female students to go to France for further study.This paper aims at analyzing the style and feature of Pan Yuliang’s paintings as well as the causes.The paper tries to divide the development of her painting into four phases and analyze what kind of school has had influence on the change of Pan Yuliang’s painting’s style in different periods,what achievements has she made.Some representative works will also be analyzed.The analysis of work can give us a further understanding of what the painter wants to express as well as the story behind the work.Then the paper will compare her with the male painter who studied in France in the same period,analyzing the similarities and differences in painting forms and their different opinions on the fusion of Chinese and Western,which both influence and promote each other and contribute to the innovation of Chinese art.At the same time,the paper will analyze the similarities and differences emotions the works expressed from different genders’ perspectives.Especially when she putted Chinese oriental elements into paintings under the western thinking models of painting,she was been approved and praised by western countries,it’s very valuable for an oriental female artist to do so.The painting career of Pan Yuliang shows a variety in the pattern of manifestation,ranging from the use of ethnic elements,the lines of traditional Chinese paintings to feminist consciousness in painting.Her works are colorful and bold in composition,which infuse Chinese elements into the frames of western painting.Her oil painting not only inherits the traditional western techniques,but also mixes the Chinese ink temperament.Her colorful ink also integrates the western perspective.The images of objects in her work are accurate,which embodies the flexibility of Chinese strokes.Pan Yuliang forms her unique eastern artistic style from the collection of eastern and western classic works.Her work reflects her unceasing efforts to improve herself.With her painstaking efforts,she rebuilt the real and wonderful life.
