Common Problems And Solutions In Movie Dubbing Translation

I was fortunate enough to be an intern in a translation company which specializes in movie translation.During my internship,I realized it is not easy to be a movie translator as people might think.There are lots of difficulties when it comes to movie translation,however,there are always ways to tackle those problems.Movie and TV series translation fall to two categories--script translation and dubbing.Although these two types have similarities,they differ from each other in many ways.This essay focuses on dubbing.In this essay,I analyze many cases which I came across during my internship and discusses possible methods to help polish my original version of translation.Three common problems and three problem-solving method are showcased in the essay.The problems are:1.dubbing does not match the lips;2.how to translate swearing and slang;3.how to translate technical content.I hope that in this era where culture is flourishing,I can share my insights in dubbing to all of you.
