Catalogs are usually used to promote enterprises' products,cultures,and to establish corporate identities.They usually contain literary expressions,an expertise and advertising messages.However,problems such as lacking in literariness,appropriate wordings,and promotional effectiveness are often found in catalog translation.This thesis firstly introduces the meanings,functions and features of catalogs,and then discusses some specific difficulties that the author had encountered in the translation of the titles,slogans,introductions and propagandas.Then the author will analyze the differences between the draft translations and their final versions,and the considerations the author has taken to solve these translation difficulties.In the end of the thesis,the author intends to conclude some strategies,such as using idioms and creating an immersive experience for the readers,from the perspectives of the vocabulary,sentence,translators' knowledge base,and expressions,hoping to provide some helpful references for translating such type of text materials.
