A Variation Study On Chaohu Dialect

Chaohu is one of county-level city of Anhui Province.Chaohu dialect,as a part of Hongchao dialectal area of Jianghuai Mandarin,is trasition zone of dialects.Therefore,it is of research value.This paper take Chaohu dialect as a study subject,using the combination of the methods of traditional linguistics and social linguistics,and collect linguistic data by the methods of questionnaire investigation and interview recording.We use SPSS software to analyze the data.From three aspects,the Chaohu dialect pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,this paper study the effect of Chaohu dialect variation within the language internal factors and social factors,and further explore the characteristics and causes of Chaohu dialect variation.Chapter one is mainly introduced the geography,history and dialect of Chaohu,and then emphasizes on the status of Chaohu dialect and the research situation about dialect variation.Meanwhile,we explain the contents of this paper,the research significance,the theoretical basis and research methods.Chapter two introduces the reasons for selecting Chaohu as the object of investigation and the survey program,survey methods and the methods of data processing are established.From chapter three to chapter five,we analyze pronunciation variables,vocabulary variables and grammar variables.We discuss the variation characteristics of sound,vocabulary and grammar and analyze the reasons for the formation of variation in chapter six.Finally,we summarize the content of this paper and point out some defects at the same time.
