To interpret a theme speech in a forum can be quite challenging since the speaker may create redundancies,incomplete sentences and misleading messages in the speech.The SI interpreter,based on a full understanding of the source language,should follow the logic of the speaker to distinguish key information from secondary information before using some appropriate interpreting tactics to reformulate the primary information by dealing with the secondary information as well.In accordance with Daniel Gile's Effort Model and relevant theories of secondary information,this report explains the necessity in dealing with the secondary information that interferes ineffective interpreting of primary information in Chinese-English simultaneous interpretation.With the practice of the simulated simultaneous interpretation of the 2016 Dujiangyan International Forum,this report puts forward relevant coping tactics to secondary information from the perspective of Gile's Effort Model.The report consists of five parts:Chapter One is task description,introducing the background of the mock interpreting task,features of the source text and objectives of the interpreting task as well;Chapter Two is process description,introducing the interpreting process;Chapter Three is about the difficulties of the interpreting task,in which the interpreter presents a classification of the secondary information and its difficulties in interpreting;Chapter Four is coping tactics in interpreting secondary information,which puts forward coping tactics from perspective of Gile's Effort Model;the last is conclusion.
