With the rapid development of globalization,China has a pivotal position in international financial affairs,and the demand for financial translators has increased year by year.At the same time,China also needs to absorb the rich experience of the world in translation of the financial field,which means that the translation of the financial texts needs to be carried out vigorously,correspondingly translators should put more efforts on translation.It is important to be able to translate the financial texts in a more comprehensive and accurate way and to maintain the style as much as possible.The thesis takes the translation of the Financial Times as an example,so as to explore the translation of the financial texts from the perspective of functional equivalence theory.The thesis takes the translation of the Financial Times as the object of study,explaining professional terms,proper nouns,numbers and polysemy translation in the lexical level,as well as compound sentences,passive sentences and semantic supplementation in the sentence level,as well as cohesion and coherence in the discourse level to testify whether the translation of Financial Times is consistent with the functional equivalence theory.It is found that the translation of the Financial Times accurately holds the linguistic features of the financial texts.The translation strategies are used in order to achieve the equivalence of the forms and the dynamic one and the translation principles of the functional equivalence theory.In view of the specialty and complexity of the financial texts,the translation means a serious challenge for translators.Therefore,the study of the translation of Financial Times has a strong practicality,and also can work as a reference for the translation of financial texts in the future.
