The Research About The Relationship Among Attachment Style,Preferences Of Use Communication Media And Intimate Relationship Quality

Effective communication is critical for the good development and maintenance of romantic relationships.With the use of modern network communication technology becomes more and more common,it is more important than ever to understand which channels of communication may be most beneficial for individuals and their romantic relationships.In the past 30 years,foreign scholars carry out a lot of research on the relationship between attachment style and relationship quality and made great achievements,butthe study of the mechanism of influencing intimate relationship still needs further exploration and there is less research on communication in intimate relationships.Because college days is thecritical period to establish the correct values of love and to build a harmonious family,it is very important to explore the mechanism of the attachment style,preferences of use communication media and the quality of the relationship among college students.The study was conducted with a questionnaire survey of 1177 students who is in love,in order to explore the relationship among variables.This paper is divided into two studies:The first study was to develop preferences of use communication media questionnaire.In second study,we explore the relationship among the attachment style,preferences of use communication media and the quality of intimate relationship satisfaction,to assess potential psychological mechanisms of the effect of preferences of use communication media on the relationship between attachment styles and the quality of intimate relationship.The results are as follows:(1)The preferences of use communication media questionnaire was found to have good reliability and validity.(2)In the romantic relationship,university students with different demographic backgrounds showed significant differences on the level of attachmentstyle,preferences of use communication media and intimate relationship satisfaction.(3)Attachment anxiety,attachment avoidance was negatively correlated with the intimate relationship satisfaction;attachment anxiety was positively correlated with telephone communication,written or e-mail communication,attachment avoidance was negatively correlated with telephone,face-to-face communication,positively related to SMS communication;relationship satisfaction questionnaire was positively correlated with face-to-face and telephone communication,was a negatively correlated with written or e-mail communication.the satisfaction scale was positively related to face to face communication,and was a negatively correlated with written or e–mail communication.(4)Attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety negatively predict intimate relationship satisfaction.Face–to–face communication and social network service communication positively predicted satisfaction of intimate relationships,written or e–mail communication negatively predicted intimate relationship satisfaction.Attachment avoidance negatively predicted face–to–face communication and telephone communication,attachment anxiety positively predicted telephone communication and written or e–mail communication(5)preferences of use communication media a moderating role between attachment style and intimate relationship satisfaction.
