The place theory which is propelled by "human culture" and "socialization" in western geography field is more and more concerned by human geography research.In this context,place identity has also become a hot research spot in human geography.Place identity has become an important concept in the study of man-land relationships,especially in terms of the emotional connection between people and places.Place identity is an important research content of human geography.It is a part of oneself.These cognitions represent memories,ideal feelings,attitudes,values,preferences,meanings,and conceptions of behavior and experience which relate to the variety and complexity of physical environment.In this study,we selected the military dependents' villages which are formed under the special background of Taiwan,exploring the place identity of the residents in the village,In this study,the local identity of the dependents mainly involves two aspects,one is Taiwan's identity,the other is the recognition of mainland China,and Taiwan's identity is the main content of the study.This paper explores the characteristics of environmental affection,social life identity,cultural identity and emotional attachment to Taiwanese dependents in Taiwan dependents from the perspective of "local" elements of Taiwanese identity research.The research methods mainly use questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews.The results have shown that:First,Taiwan dependents have gradually strengthened their identity of Taiwan,and the identity of China's mainland has been weakening.At the aspect of environmental identity,Taiwan dependents have a higher degree of identity of the physical environment,suitable climatic conditions and natural landscapes enhance the sense of pride and identity of Taiwan.At the aspect of social identity,the dependents of the military depend on Taiwan's economic environment and the government's management is low,social security and social security have a higher recognition.The "Taiwan mainlanders identity M of the military dependents is weakened.The younger generation replace”Taiwan mainlanders identity " with "Taiwanese identity",the cultural life identity,China mainland culturalidentity of the Military dependents' village residents is weakening And the Taiwan cultural identity is strengthening.At the aspect of emotional attribution,Taiwan is changing from "strange land " to" hometown".The younger generations have no emotional contact with China mainland.Second,there are intergenerational differences in the place identity of the Taiwan military dependents'village residents.This kind of intergenerational difference is mainly reflected in the three aspects of ethnic identity,cultural identity and emotional attribution.The Taiwan identity of the first generations showing a functional dependency and lack of sense of belonging.They are more emotionally attached to the China mainland.The second and third generations have stronger Taiwan identity and emotional affiliation,but lack of recognition of China mainland.Third,the place identity of Taiwan dependents affected by factors,such as historical,political,educational,social network.The military dependents' villages are formed in the special historical background,and the place identity of the residents is closely related to the historical background of the Taiwan.Military Dependents' village residents have played an important role in Taiwan's political society.The policy changes of the Taiwan authorities and the struggle between political parties will affect their identity.Education is an important tool for shaping identity.Education policy affects mainly on the younger generation of military dependents;The increase of the social network between the dependents and the local people is bound to promote the integration of the local residents and local communities,thus affecting the place identity.
