For the purpose of facilitating cross-cultural exchanges and communications, interpreting has been a focus for a long time and played an indispensable role in activities on the international arena. This report concerns consecutive interpreting for a project named “International Coach Education Workshop”,which is a real interpreting practice based on a workshop for football coach education. The author was involved in the practice to be one of the two interpreters, and was responsible for interpreting for both indoor presentations and outdoor demonstrations.Besides, the author made full preparations before and in the process of interpreting, including early preparation, middle and improvised preparation.Based on the interpreting project that lasted for seven days, the report discusses some specific examples under the guidance of Danial Gile's “Effort Model”.The report aims at exploring some practical solutions in dealing with increased processing capacity requirements in order to reach a better performance for future interpreting activities. The author completed the practice successfully and got good evaluations from the speakers and the customer.Through this interpreting practice, the author has obtained inspirations, which can be used for reference in interpreting activities in the future.Besides, the author has a deeper understanding of Gile's Effort Model.Rationalize the energy in the two phases of Effort Model, listening and note-taking,and production, improve the notes, and the interpreter will be able to have better performance. It is of great help for interpreters to use Effort Model and the relevant strategies successfully.
