This is a translation project report with its original text selected from Chapter two of The United State As a Developing Country:Studies in US History in the Progressive Era and The 1920s,namely " Studying American Political Development in Progressive Era,1890s-1916 ",written by Martin J.Sklar,a renowned American historian,which is mainly about the characteristics of capitalism in 1890s to 1919 in America.With many formal words,abstract nouns,prepositional phrases,as well as long and complex sentences,the original text has the characteristics of academic writing,featuring objectivity of language expression.During translation practice,the author,under the guidance of Eco-translatology,adapts to the translational eco-environments of original text,source language and target language from multi dimensions and adopts the translation method of "Three Dimensional Transformation"to strike harmony and balance between original text and target text in translational eco-environments of language,social intercourse and culture through translation techniques like class shift,amplification,division,combination,free translation.After finishing the whole translation project,the author fully understands the importance of pre-translation preparation and bilingual ability to translation.Therefore,translators should do a lot of translation practices and read broadly.Meanwhile,keeping improving one's learning ability and developing habits of being careful and patient while translating are also crucial for the translator to provide excellent translated text.
