A Report On The Translation Of Ping An Bank Final Client Report

This translation practice report is a Chinese translation practice report based on Final client report for Ping An Bank branch on how to increase the number of clients walking into the branch(about 25,000 words)of Shen Hua Sub-branch of Ping An Bank.This report makes a simple introduction about the relevant information of the original text and analyzes its text type and language features.Translation theory of Newmark on text types and related translation strategies are used to guide the translation process.According to the translation principles of informative texts,the author analyzes the source texts in terms of vocabulary,sentence,and discourse,explains the difficulties in translation,and then proposes solutions.This report is divided into four parts: chapter one is the project introduction to the source text including project background,significance,original text and the requirements of the client;chapter two presents the process of the translation project containing translation aids,translation strategies,the introduction of the content and the analysis of the source text,translation arrangement and review;chapter three analyzes translation difficulties and underlines skills used in the translation process from three levels-lexical level,syntactic level and textual level.The source text involves more contents about the fields of finance,banking management and so on.It is certainly difficult to translate terms and proper nouns,and the choice of word meaning and sentence structures are more complicated.Through consulting relevant professional materials,the translator makes a deep analysis about the source text in which the source contents can be expressed correctly;and applies word conversion,long sentence segmentation and domesticating method to deal with the difficulties,then analyzes the text according to the principles of informative text translation and the application of connectives;chapter four draws a conclusion of this translation project.The author finally completed the translation practice report by referring to the translation of the financial texts of the investigation report.Through this translation task,the author hopes that proposals for reform can be provided to Ping An Bank Shen Hua Sub-branch to increase the number of clients entering the branch by learning from the successful experience of banks in South Africa,the United States and China.And then make a modest contribution to the economic prosperity of Dongcheng District in Beijing,contributing to the development of the banking industry in China.
