Study On The Significance Of Communication In Team Translation Project

This thesis is an internship report,which is based on the author's translation experience in a translation project of the intern translation company GTC Technology Co.,Ltd.Through reviewing and summarizing the internship experience,the author hopes that this report will be conducive to improve translation ability.Meanwhile,other MTI students will realize the importance of translation practice for improving translation competence.As modern science and technology progressed rapidly,translation services are undergoing great changes which mainly relate to wider application of the translation technology,increasingly diversified demand for translation services and the rising translation cost.In order to deal with the explosion of documents in need of translation,language service providers featuring traditional translation services took advantage of the theory of project management to improve translation efficiency and quality.Team-oriented and project-based practice will be the inevitable trend of translation industry development.In the age of information and network,translation calls for joint efforts of a large number of translators instead of independent work made by one single translator.Team translation has been used as a way of translation more often than ever before.Translation project is an increasingly popular mode of translation activity in the translation market,which suggests that it is necessary for professional translators to develop good project sense and project management expertise.The author firstly provides an overview of the internship experience,including the introduction of the company and the background of the translation project,etc.On the basis of management of translation project,this report reviews the general procedures applied in the planning and implementation phase.According to the problems encountered in the process of translation,this report sets forth the important role of team communication played in promoting the successful delivery of the translation project and improving the translation quality.Lastly,the author's internship summary and self-introduction is introduced.
