The source text is Anyang Cultural Center Commentary.Anyang Cultural Center is completed and opened in November 2015.The source text is relatively new and it mainly introduced the culture of Shang Dynasty,Chinese ideology of “The Book of Changes”,Red Flag Canal Spirit and so on.It collected the essence of Anyang culture and showed Anyang cultures' changes and historical stories.Anyang Cultural Center Commentary,with Chinese language characteristics,contains a lot of culture-loaded words,such as names,places,dynasties,reign tittles,four-character structure,historical allusions and poems and so on,for example,“The Mysterious Bird Gives Birth to Shang”,“King Yu combating the flood ”,which become the difficulties and focus of translation.How to successfully translate them into foreign language is a question worth pondering.If these culture-loaded words are handled improperly,it will greatly affect cross-cultural communication and acceptability of the text.Therefore,it is necessary and important for translators to deal with these culture-loaded words.This paper takes the source text Anyang Cultural Center Commentary as a case to explore methods to translate culture-loaded words in Chinese-English tourism publicity text in order to achieve cross-cultural communication.Under the research of former scholars,this paper analyzes the classification of culture-loaded words and puts forward four translation principles: moderation and simplicity principle,cultural correspondence principle,readers' acceptability principle,semantic loyalty principle,and then put forward five translation methods under the guidance of these principles: transliteration,literal translation,free translation,transliteration and literal translation,annotation.These translation methods can reduce the cultural vacancies caused by cultural differences between the east and west,so that the translation can be accepted by target language readers,help to spread Yin Ruins culture,and at the same time,to enhance the effectiveness of tourist attractions.The author also hopes this study can provide some references for future study of culture-loaded words and will make contribution to Chinese cultural “going out”.
