In recent years, with the continuous improvement of China's international status, many excellent traditional cultures have gradually become active in the world cultural forest with a brand-new look.Among them,Shu embroidery stands out for its unique artistic value and cultural connotation, attracting many overseas embroidery lovers. However, from the current situation of domestic research on embroidery translation, there are only a few relevant English versions, which greatly hinders the spread and development of embroidery culture, and leads to the lack of channels for overseas audiences to appreciate Shu embroidery culture. This translation practice report, translating Shu embroidery culture into English, aims at further inheriting Sichuan folk culture and exploring methods and strategies for translation of embroidery and publicity texts to provide a certain reference for such translation and make efforts for the Chinese traditional embroidery culture to go abroad. This translation report involves some professional terms of Shu embroidery,culture-loaded words and ancient Chinese poetry,as well as geographical and cultural backgrounds in the development of Shu embroidery.By searching literature, watching videos and consulting parallel texts related to embroidery, the author learned a lot about Shu embroidery. In the process of translation, the author adopted literal translation, free translation and free translation annotation to translate embroidery terms. As for sentences, the author made corresponding adjustments to the sentences by means of splitting long sentences and adjusting word order, which can not only convey the cultural information, but can also retain the features of the original text.In the course of this translation practice, the author has experienced the unique cultural connotation of Shu embroidery and realized that the translation work requires the translator to have a good command of language. The translator needs to acquire a certain ability of bilingual conversion and profound language skills.Besides, the translator should also learn to make full use of all kinds of resources around them, such as network resources, books and documents and so on so as to efficiently complete the writing of papers. In this process, translators need to communicate with professionals to improve our own deficiencies. After the translation practice, the author realized that we should continue to reflect on and sum up experiences in the future practice and strive for perfection in translation. Finally, the author sincerelyhoped that this report can provide a certain reference for the relevant translation of embroidery in the future.
