A Report On The Translation Of Civil Aviation Engineering English (?. In The Future)

Recent years have witnessed the rapid development of civil aviation in China.To actively adapt to this new normal,Chinese airlines focus on the staff training by introducing relevant foreign references to improve their core competitiveness and market discourse power.This report is based on the translation of Civil Aviation Engineering English(VI.In the Future),which was introduced by a certain Chinese airline as a textbook for its staff training.From the perspective of text typology,the civil aviation text is a subtype of scientific literature,belonging to the content-focused text or the informative text.This report,with its focus on the study of Skopostheorie and the translation of civil aviation texts,and in the light of the characteristics of the type,elaborates upon the applicability and guidance of Skopostheorie for strategic option by way of a comparative analysis on the lexical and syntactical levels.The results show that Skopostheorie offers practical guidance to the translation of the civil aviation text,enabling the translator to make reasonable choices in terms of lexicon and syntax.The report,with a new vision for the study of the translation of civil aviation texts,is a good attempt to apply Skopostheorie to the translation of civil aviation texts,providing some referential strategies and methods for the translation of the type.
