A Report On The English To Chinese Translation Of Global Strategy For The Diagnosis,Management,and Prevention Of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Updated 2015(Excerpt)

In the process of globalization,many sci-tech articles are written in English.It is essential to translate these articles into Chinese with the intention to introduce more advanced knowledge into China.This paper focused on the E-C translation of medical articles under the guidance of Skopos theories.COPD,short for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease,is a common disease in our country.Middle-aged and aged people are the main victims and the mortality rate is high.To improve this situation,the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease was launched in 1998.The GOLD has found new ways to prevent COPD and cure the victimized patients.This paper used the English version of Global Strategy for the Diagnosis,Management,and Prevention of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Updated 2015(Excerpt)issued by the GOLD,and this article were translated into Chinese.The author summarized the skills in E-C translation and provided helpful micro-strategies in dealing with common grammar problems in translation of medical context by case studies.
