While the process of population aging in Jilin province is later than part ofnationwide cities, with the increase of life expectancy and decline of fertility rate, theaging growth is fast in the province. The growing phenomenon of aging poses asevere test for the pension services, health care and other basic social security in ourprovince. Whether population aging can coordinate with social economicdevelopment, it has become an increasingly prominent question.Institutional pension gradually occupies an important position as asupplementary to home care model. Currently, pension institutions have advantages,but there are also imperfections in number, facilities, services, etc., in Jilin province,not meeting the basic requirements of life and spiritual comfort needs for the elderly.This article aims to pension institutions from the perspective of the province, throughanalyzing the status and problems of the existing pension agency, as well as drawingon the successful experience of foreign pension institutions, discuss how the provinceshould guide the healthy development of the pension agency, and to some extent solvethe pension problem for the elderly.This paper is divided into six parts. The first part is an introduction, elaboratingresearch background, significance, reviews of related literature,methods, and theinnovation, focus, and difficulty in writing. The second is the relevant theory andreview, divided into two sections. Where first expounds China's aging populationproblem and constitution of pension service system; second elaborates the theoreticalbasis about pension. The third part is the development status of pension institutions inJilin, mainly introducing the development and some of the achieved results of pensioninstitutions in recent years, and predict ding the future development trend for thepension agency in Jilin. The fourth part analyzes the problems of pension institutionsin Jilin, and the factors which influence their development. The fifth part is thedrawing experience, learning from foreign countries such as United States, Japan andfrom other domestic provinces such as Beijing, Taiwan, and sums up the developmentimplications of domestic and foreign pension institutions by analyzing experience.The fourth is the proposals to promote the development of pension institutions in Jilinprovince.
