With the rapid development of our social economy and the improvement of agricultural mechanization, more and more farmers choose to work in the city and “the young and old family” phenomenon is increasingly common. Compared with other old people, Rural empty-nesters' children is not at home all the year round, so they have more strong demand of care and emotional support. In order to make them enjoy their life, this study used the method of social group work,through the establishment of mutual support group, to make up for the lack of family care and meet the emotional need of the rural empty-nesters.The study used the questionnaire and interview method to evaluate the need of the empty-nesters in HeWan village,and based on this analysis,the social worker organized a series of group activities,which is supported by activity theory and advantage theory. In the process of group activities,the social worker relied on professional values and ideas, to guide the empty-nesters to face the transformation of their role and discover the potential resources and establish the mutual support relationship between the team members.Through team work, the empty-nester realized their own advantage, by helping each others, they have realized their own value, satisfied their pension demand and reduced the loneliness, which improved the empty-nesters' mental condition. In the process of mutual support, through experience sharing, the ability of the empty-nesters' independence was gradually increasing.Considering the number of study about social work intervention in rural empty-nesters' demand is not so much,so the author hope that through the practical study about rural empty-nester mutual support group to explore the way to solve the growing pension probiem of empty-nesters.
