| Though the concept of "international regimes" in the study of international relations has been created for only decades, the interactions between changeable reality and international relations theory has made it one of the most important issues of today’s world politics. Within international regimes, the struggle of great power politics, competitions of comprehensive national strength as well as the issues in non-traditional security field which is popular nowadays are issues that any countries cannot ignore.The interactions between China and international regimes could date back to Qing dynasty, which of course, mostly were compromise. While since the founding of the PRC, China had been separated from main regimes for several decades due to the international environment and the combat of ideology at that time. Up to the end of the 20th century, having gone through the outsider, challenger and the stage of negative participant, China finally re-examined her relationship with international regimes and became a positive participant. In the 21st century, China’s attitude towards regimes has changed. Fully understanding that taking positive actions in international regimes is a best way for state interest maintenance, China has started to become a builder and creator of international regimes. During the last 14 years, China has taken experiments and achieved good results in several fields.On the basis of illustrating the significance of international regimes and reviewing the changes of China’s attitudes towards them, this paper lays its main attentions on China’s activities on international regimes in the 21st century. This paper focused on the changes of China’s policies towards international regimes and tried to clarify the specific forms of China’s construction activities. On that basis the paper tried to explain the reasons of China’s doing so and summarize the achievements of international regime construction. Through the analysis above, this paper attempts to provide some reference for similar researches afterwards and some theoretical support for China’s strategic actions in constructing international regimes. |
