Research On The Existing Problems Of Our Nation's Community-based Elderly Nursing Services For The Aged And Countermeasures

Currently, with the constant speed-up of the aging process, the aged population of our nation features such characteristics as big cardinal number, aging of the elderly and empty-nested elderly. The downsizing of our nation's family structures has resulted in the weakening of the nursing functions of the traditional families, while the nursing facilities hosted by the government has failed to bring into play its supporting function for elderly nursing. The speed-up of the development the elderly nursing services that are adaptable to our nation's current new situation is of special importance. The proposition of the community-based elderly nursing services provides new resorts and methods for the mitigation of the current severe elderly nursing problem.In the home-based elderly nursing services, institutional elderly nursing services and community-based nursing services, community-based elderly nursing services,while inheriting the home-based elderly nursing services, are an elderly nursing service mode that conducts exploration and innovations. The community-based elderly nursing services enable the elderly to “live up the natural span of life” in a familiar environment,which conforms to our nation's traditional culture. Community-based elderly nursing services are an inevitable option in our nation's coping with the serious tests and challenges brought about by the aging population.However, China's community-based elderly nursing services which originated from the British community care mode has had only a history of mere 20 years, and although great progress has been achieved in such a process, there are still such problems as narrow channels for fund-raising, imperfect infrastructures, backward construction of the team of professional talents, low degree of professionalism and insufficient resource integration. This Paper proposes relevant countermeasures regarding the existing problems in the community-based elderly nursing services:starting from the satisfaction of the elderly people's basic service needs, it emphasizes increasing the publicity efforts and elevate people cognitions on the community-based elderly nursing services; meanwhile, through the elevation socialization levels and the degrees of professionalism of the community-based elderly nursing services, efforts shall be made, under the dominance by the government, to sufficiently integrate andutilize the resources of the various aspects and bring into play the maximum efficiency of the community-based elderly nursing services.
