The concept of soft power proposed by the American scholar Joseph Nye in early 1990s had an important impact on the international community. National leaders and scholars have come to realize that traditional hard power like politics, economy, military and so on is no longer the only means for countries to rise or to solve contradictions. With the increasingly prominent globalization and the growing interdependence between countries, soft power has become an important part of the national strength, and more and more countries have attached great importance to the construction of their own soft power.Japan was a defeated country of World War ?, whose military power was greatly restricted after the war. In order to achieve the rise of the country again, Japan has promoted soft power to its national strategic level and made good results in its foreign policy, gradually improving its national image and enhancing its international status. This paper discusses the foreign policy in Japan's soft power after World War ?, to provide a theoretical reference for the peaceful rise of China and the development of more scientific policy on japan. This article is divided into five parts:the introduction part states the background and significance of the topic, research methods, innovation and deficiencies. The existing research results at home and abroad are also summarized in this part, which lay the foundation for this study; the first chapter combs the theory of soft power, and provides theoretical support for this topic; the second chapter elaborates the Japanese foreign policy in its soft power after World War ? with examples of its foreign policies of peace and environment, which provides a realistic basis for the subject; the third chapter further discusses the advantages and disadvantages of Japanese foreign policy in the soft power after World War ? on the basis of the above two examples; the fourth chapter proposes suggestions for the construction of Chinese soft power and the formulation and implementation of Chinese foreign policy during its peaceful rise with the Japanese experience for reference.
