Thai Chinese Mazu Belief In Cross-culture Communication

Overseas Chinese in Thailand, in the process of their living, and establish a career in foreign countries, live in peace and harmony with the local people, with their own industrious and intelligent for the regional economy and development of host countries play their role. Gradually formed their own immigrant community and set up a new way of life and transnational social networks to support their survival and development of the society in Thailand. Which brought Chinese mazu belief in Thailand for re-engineering and reflects the new development of the relationship between Thailand’s culture and other ethnic culture of mutual influence and mutual fusion. Of mazu belief in dealing with the social and cultural conflict and cultural adaptation in the process of the two major social functions, on the one hand, as the expression of cultural differences, construction of ethnic boundaries and the condensation of ethnic minorities symbol, the mazu belief not only expressed the Thai Chinese people homesick feelings, also show their differences and Thai society and running-in process; On the other hand, as a special medium of communication, in the process of communicating with Thai culture fusion to form a series of special cultural exchange mechanism, and recognized as Thailand is very important part of Chinese culture.This article from the perspective of trans-nationalism and intercultural communication, the Thai Chinese people and the belief of mazu as the research object. This paper argues that mazu belief in the Chinese community in Thailand is very important to express and adjustment, to maintain social relations tool. The mazu belief in Thai society are gradually become the one big characteristic of Thailand inclusive culture process, to explore it as a special kind of cross-cultural communication media of social significance.
