China is a multi-ethnic country with 56 nationalities.Under the guidance of national policy,China has basically formed the pattern of "integration and pluralism of the Chinese nation" in China.Interracial marriage is a common phenomenon in multi-ethnic countries and an important index to measure the degree of ethnic relations and ethnic integration.Ethnic intermarriage will produce a very special group —— intermarriage children group. At present, the academic circles pay less attention to intermarriage children group.According to the Provisions on the Determination of Ethnic Composition of Chinese Citizens and the Administrative Measures on the Registration of Ethnic Composition of Chinese Citizens, the ethnic composition of children born to citizens of different nationalities married shall be agreed upon by their parents before the age of 18 and may be changed once within two years from the date of reaching the age of18,according to the ethnic composition of their father or mother. The first ethnic identity choice of interracial children at birth is determined by their parents, but the second ethnic identity choice after adulthood is determined by their own.Through the study of ethnic identity selection of interracial children after adulthood,we can enrich the existing theories of interracial marriage and ethnic relations, which is conducive to the inheritance of national culture and the construction of equal, united, mutual assistance and harmonious national relations in China. And it is of great theoretical significance to study intermarriage children groupQiang exists as a separation zone between Han nationality and Tibetan nationality, and the proportion of Han nationality is the highest among all ethnic groups married to Qiang nationality. In this study,Wenchuan,Lixian and Maoxian of Hengduan Mountain ethnic corridor in southwest China were studied, and the interracial children of Qiang and Han nationality were studied.By combining quantitative and qualitative methods, this paper probes into the ethnic identity selection and its influencing factors of Qiang-Han intermarriage children after adulthood from three dimensions: individual, family and policy.By analyzing the data collected from 194 samples,it is found that 70.6% of the children of intermarriage between Qiang and Han nationalities choose Qiang nationality as their national identity.A binary Logistic regression analysis reveals that: After reaching the age of 18,the children of intermarriage between Qiang-Han,(1)The higher the level of education, the more inclined to choose ethnic minorities as their own national identity;(2)The more contact with relatives of ethnic minorities, the more inclined to choose ethnic minorities as their own national identity;(3)Which party has a higher degree of national identity,More inclined to choose this nation as their own national identity;(4)Interracial children prefer to choose the same national identity as their fathers;(5)The higher the education of parents,More inclined to choose ethnic minorities as their own national identity;(6)The lower the level of satisfaction with the family’s monthly income,More inclined to choose ethnic minorities as their own national identity;(7)People living in ethnic areas prefer to choose ethnic minorities as their own ethnic identity;(8)Those who have enjoyed minority care policies tend to choose ethnic minorities as their national identity.By analyzing the data collected in-depth interviews with 15 Qiang-Han intermarriage children, this paper further demonstrates the influence of individual education level, close relatives, national identity, parents’ national identity category, parents’ education level, family monthly income satisfaction, national care policy and other factors on the secondary national identity selection of intermarriage children after adulthood. The phenomenon that the children of Qiang-Han intermarriage are more inclined to choose the identity of the Qiang ethnic group after they reach adulthood, which will have a certain impact on the national population structure of our country.Under the structure of the Chinese nation community, the children of Qiang and Han intermarriage showed a state of multi-level ethnic identity with the "Chinese nation" and their own ethnic group. At the same time,we have also found that the practical benefits brought by the minority care policy make the secondary ethnic identity of the children of Qiang and Han intermarriage after they reach adulthood more rational. And the identity registration system makes the second ethnic identity choice of some Qiang-Han intermarried children after adulthood have symbolic meaning. The state can advocate the "cultural consciousness" of all ethnic groups under the background of forging the sense of community of the Chinese nation, and protect and inherit the national culture. In addition, the scope of application of the minority care policy can be adjusted to reduce the phenomenon of choosing minority status due to actual interests.
