Study On The Legislation Of Genetically Modified Foods Based On The Background Of Commercialisation

With the development of transgenic technology,Genetically modified foods are already very much a part of our lives.Genetically modified foods have shown so many advantages compared with normal foods.In the meantime,the development of genetically modified food is a great opportunity for China to solve the resources problems.The commercialization of genetically modified foods is foreseeable.Due to the limitations of scientific research,genetically modified foods may exist some unclear risk.Although China has the food safety law,but there is no specific law for genetically modified food.Lack of specialized legislation on genetically modified food safety,the current legislation is too simple,vague,some specific systems lack of maneuverability.Based on the analysis of the legislation of the European Union,the United States and Japan on the safety of genetically modified foods,this paper attempts to put forward the legislation suggestions for the safety of genetically modified food in China.By introduces the advantages and disadvantages of genetically modified foods and the possible risks,in view of the status and problems of GM foods safety legislation in our country,combined with the practice of foreign GM foods safety legislation on genetically modified food.Commercialization of GM foods makes the legal regulation on genetically modified foods become stretched.Therefore,it is necessary to develop a higher level of the genetically modified foods safety law to promote the safety of genetically modified foods.
