The Job Satisfaction Research Of The Medical Police In The Prison System Of A Province

Prison medical policemen are the ones engaged in medical work in the prison, they are both policemen and doctors. They work in the isolated places surrounded by high wall and wire fence and take charge of supervision and medical treatment, they devote themselves to maintain the safety and stability of the prison. Because of tough job surroundings and special work objects, they take much occupational risk and mental pressure and are prone to keep a slack hand. How to manage and motivate them effectively has become a difficult problem in the current prison management. In view of the reasons above, as a member of the authority department, the author made a survey on their job satisfaction with the job satisfaction theory to understand their work status and needs, which would help to seek the countermeasures to promote the development of health services and maintain the safety and stability of the prison in A Province.This thesis takes prison medical policemen in A Province as the research objects by means of the self-designed medical policemen job satisfaction scale, which consists of 9 aspects, including unit management, personal development, value realization, salary, leadership style, work environment, rewards and penalties, work load and interpersonal relationship and 36 indicators. The survey was carried out on 300 medical policemen and 270 effective questionnaires were received. With SPSS 19.0 software to process the data, the survey reflects the final average score of job satisfaction is 3.089, slightly higher than the ideal average score 3, which shows that the prison medical policemen are not quite satisfied with the current work status. Finally, the thesis analyzes the causes of low job satisfaction of prison medical policemen and puts forward some proposals.This thesis includes 6 parts:introduction, theories of job satisfaction, analysis of the survey data on job satisfaction of prison medical policemen in A Province, the causes of low job satisfaction, the countermeasures and proposals, conclusions.
