| With the economic development in recent years in our society,people are developing stronger legal understanding in laws,and in tandem with this phenomenon comes with the higher demand of law services.Even since 1979 when the legal system was restored,law firms,big and small,have come into the arena,which has boosted the industry of laws services.Up until now,there are,in total,24,000 law firms nationwide,and 297,000 lawyers.Lawyers,considered as a special legal group,play an active role in all spheres of social life.They propel the development of legalisation process with their expertise knowledge,and the positive effects on maintaining social and economic order of it is being increasingly recognised.Such initiatives as Revitalise the Northeast Old Industrial Base and The Belt and Road brought forth unprecedented opportunities for law service industry.However,the lack of proper management of law service market and the flaws in its organisation system also arise to sight.For instance,some law firms that blindly pursued the scale and speed of their own growth while spreading frantically without strategic guidance have tragically collapsed.In more recent times,as international business and collaboration is rising,some foreign law firms have entered Chinese law service market.They are constantly opening more branches in first and second tier cities,and are gaining their popularity and market share through their well-established management and top-class service quality.This,inevitably,acts as a double-edged sword posing threats as well as opening avenues for their local counterparts.This essay will be focused on the discussion of Cang Qiao law firm,which wasestablished in Changchun in 2008.It is categorised as a small and medium partnership law firm.In the past decades since law firms were built,we have seen rewarding social and economical benefits.Cang Qiao has enjoyed the external environment of development thanks to the fast-paced development of regional economy,comes also with this is the inflating arena lawyers play in.However,due to the expansion in the quantity of law firms and layers,in addition to Cang Qiao's own issues,such as lack of strategic plan,lack of sound organisation,and slack management,the development of law firm industry is faced with huge obstacles and intense competition and even bottleneck.Having working in law service industry for nearly five years,the author has familiarised herself with lawyers work environment and life mode,and applied Management knowledge combined with PEST,SWOT,and Michael Porter's Five Forces Model to analyse Cang Qiao's internal situations,external competition environment,its strengths and drawbacks.Based on the conditions and demands of law firm market,the author has devised a series of development strategies with speciality and differentiation,and also precise planning and remedies for the implementation of these strategies.Such measures hopefully can be of practical help to Cang Qiao,and because it is a miniature of typical intermediate and small law firms whose operating and obstacles can be mirrored,other like firms may also refer to or learn from the proposed solutions hereby. |
