Grassroots police directly facing the masses,and having high work intensity with transactional work as a focus of routine,The dedicated case of grassroots police is related to their qulity of serving the masses,the establishment and maintain of a good image of the police force.How to improve the engagement of grassroots police is both urgent needs of police administration and a topic needs to be intensively studied in academia.Since 1980 s,with Western scholars on the theory of psychological empowerment continues to mature,western scholars found that,there is a certain relationship among psychological empowerment,job satisfaction and work engagement of employees,and psychological empowerment can enhance staff engagement directly or by intermediary role of jot satisfaction.Business managers improve the engagement of employee significantly with many measures based on relational theoretical researches.This provides new ideas and methods for upgrading engagement of grassroots police.Hence,referring to those research results and practical experience and combined with the actual situation of China's grass-roots police work,this thesis conducted an investigation on the psychological empowerment,job satisfaction and work engagement of grassroots police in the A zone of Tianjin,by amending and adapting scale abroad skillfully used and using social survey,literature research,statistical analysis,etc.synthetically.By analyzing the data,we found some phenomenon.The first,its score is a bit more on the middle level of psychological empowerment,job satisfaction and work engagement of grassroots police in the A zone of Tianjin,and it still has a large room for improvement.Second,gender,age,education and other demographic characteristics of grassroots police in the A zone of Tianjin have significant impact on their psychological empowerment,job satisfaction and work engagement.The details are as follows: groups have the highest perception of psychological empowerment with features of male,31-35 years old,college education,6-8 years of work experience,and monthly average income not less than 5,000 yuan;groups have the highest job satisfaction with features of male,31-35 years old,high school or less education,6-8 years of work experience,and monthly average income not less than 5,000 yuan;groups have the highest work engagement with features of male,younger than 30 years old,college education,3-5 years of work experience,and monthly average income between 3,501 and 5,000 yuan.Third,overall,psychological empowerment is positively correlated to job satisfaction and engagement of grassroots police,and four dimensions,empowerment the meaning of work,job autonomy,self-efficacy and job influence,of psychological,are positively correlated to them also;four dimensions,the work itself,relationships,salary compensation and self-development,of job satisfaction,are positively correlated to work engagement of grassroots police;dimension of working environment is not related to work engagement of grassroots police.Thus,this thesis suggests police Superintendent effort to promote the implementation of psychological empowerment,institutionalized and standardized to improving the engagement of grassroots police by stablishing a correct understanding of psychological empowerment,improving the existing management system and communication mechanisms.
