Research On The Current China's Internet Public Opinion Violence Problem

With the advent of the Internet era, exchange of information and communication becomes very convenient, and more and more people have come to participate in online discussions. Problems of the realistic society have formed network public opinions, the rapid aggregation of which in return influences the social life to some extent. When more and more netizens have participated in discussion of a certain event,and if such discussion fails to be guided properly,the public sentiment may deviate from the right track, evolve into the "tyranny of public opinions of the majority" and result in network public opinion violence.The network public opinion violence is the projection of social contradictions onto the network. It is not only a kind of language violence but also may evolve into the realistic violence and cause physical and mental damage to the people involved,which blocks the healthy development of the network environment and generates negative influences upon harmony and stability of the society. It is hoped that,by analyzing and studying the causes of occurrence of network public opinion violence and the governance countermeasures, more attention can be paid to these causes so as to govern the network public opinion violence, purify the network environment and maintain the social harmony and stability.This thesis has analyzed the occurrence of network public opinion violence. First,it analyzes the development of the new-media times and network public opinions,netizens and the network public opinions, and then probes into the duality of the network public opinions. Oriented towards "violence" generated by the network public opinion, I have summarized the concept, basic features and patterns, formation mechanism,manifestation of the network public opinion violence,referred to and quoted cases on network public opinion violence, applied them to the focused research of their forming reasons and finally probed into the governance countermeasures against network public opinion violence. However, effective control and guidance of such violence demand full supports of laws and morality and joint efforts of the netizens,network,government and the society so that netizens can be guided to use their right of speech properly because improper speeches may be dreadful.
